CILT President Chief Teete Owusu Nortey visits UMI to strengthen Relations (UMI-CILT)

The president of The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport International (CILT) has visited Uganda Management Institute in a bid affirm the Institutes industry leadership in training Logistics and transport professionals in Uganda and around the East African region. At UMI the team was received by the Director Programs and Students’ Affairs DR Kasozi Mulindwa. The visit was aimed at concretising the Bond between UMI and CILT. UMI hosts the CILT office (Head Quarters) in Uganda and is the go to place for all CILT related issues in the EAC region.

The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport International (CILT) is a prestigious global professional body that offers education and training in logistics, supply chain management, and transport. Founded in 1919, CILT equips professionals with critical skills to navigate and lead in these essential sectors, which play a pivotal role in global trade, economic development, and regional growth.

Chief Teete Owusu Nortey, President of CILT, and Sharon Kindleysides, General Secretary, FCILT, are driving initiatives to expand CILT’s reach and influence. Their leadership is focused on creating meaningful partnerships with institutions like Uganda Management Institute (UMI) to elevate standards in logistics and transport education across Africa and beyond.

Through this partnership, UMI continues to incorporate CILT’s internationally recognized programs into its academic offerings, boosting the institution’s ability to provide world-class training. The continued collaboration aims to enhance the quality of service delivery in logistics and transport, foster innovation, and ensure that UMI’s graduates are well-prepared to meet the demands of an increasingly interconnected global economy. Chief Teete Owusu Nortey explained that by integrating CILT’s expertise into UMI’s curriculum, the initiative will provide students and professionals with advanced knowledge and practical skills, giving them a competitive edge in a rapidly evolving industry.
