On 18^th September 2026, the (2^nd Cohort) staff members from Microfinance Support Centre (MSC) graduated from a rigorous five-day Leadership and Supervisory Skills Training Program hosted at Uganda Management Institute (UMI). The first Cohort trained a week earlier for their five-day Leadership Program from the 7^th to the 11^th of September. The comprehensive course equipped operational managers with advanced tools to drive organizational excellence, team building, and strategic leadership.

The Director General who was represented by Professor Paddy Mugambe, the Dean of the School of Business and Management reaffirmed the institute’s dedication to building regional capacity through partnerships with forward thinking organizations like MSC. He highlighted that they had arrived as operational managers and were departing as well-trained, competent leaders ready to apply innovative skills. He advised the participants to be UMI brand ambassadors and encouraged them to explore continued academic and professional development opportunities with the various academic programmes offered at UMI

During the closing ceremony, the Class President’s address reflected on the transformative trajectory of the program and noted that the cohort had transitioned from conventional operational managers into highly competent, multifaceted leaders equipped to implement strategic, high-impact changes in team dynamics and operational delegation. Expanding on this sentiment, the course manager Prof. Wilberforce Turyasingura emphasized that the rigorous curriculum was meticulously engineered around critical core competencies designed to optimize organizational performance, encompassing advanced communication enhancement, sophisticated time management, proactive conflict resolution, and effective employee motivation strategies. To bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and institutional execution, trainees were subsequently introduced to a specialized, results-oriented action plan framework explicitly structured to facilitate the seamless tracking and practical deployment of their newly acquired managerial capabilities within their respective workplaces.

The graduating cohort expressed profound appreciation to Uganda Management Institute for the comprehensive acquisition of advanced managerial competencies and strategic frameworks.

In their closing remarks, leadership from both UMI and MSC advised the participants to systematically operationalize the sophisticated leadership principles across both their institutional portfolios and personal spheres, thereby cultivating a culture of perpetual professional enhancement, organizational development, and peak operational efficacy within their respective workspaces.
