UMI and Uganda Prisons Launch a Senior Leadership Training Program
Uganda Management Institute and Uganda Prisons service have launched a senior leadership and Management training Program for the Prisons Service in Uganda. The program is a culmination of a continued appreciation by the prisons service of UMI training and skilling quality. The Commissioner General Uganda Prisons Service has on various fora applauded UMI for being practical on the trainings in leadership and management. Dr. Byabasaija, is a graduate from UMI and has on several occasions urged his officers to train at UMI.
The training was officially launched at the Luzira Prisons Academy and training school on 6th march. The launch function was presided over by Major General Godfrey Gooloba the Director Human Resources in the Uganda Police force. Golooba informed the prisons service that the Police force was in a forth cohort of partnership training with UMI and he was very happy with the output.
UMI on her part reminded participants of the rigor of its courses. The training is competence based and shall have examinations at the end. The prisons service on the other hand is happy to bring home training and diversity to their academy. The Prisons Service completes the relationship between UMI and the Ugandan Security forces. UMI already has a training and skilling in leadership and management with the UPDF, senior staff and Command College Kimaka and the Police Force.
