UMI Alumni Association Held Swearing-In Ceremony for their New Executive

On Friday 15th August 2025 the UMI Alumni Association held a swearing In and Handover ceremony to welcome the newly elected executive members and bid farewell to the outgoing members. The event was graced by Dr. Hillary Bisanga who represented the commissioner of Prisons, he is the patron of the association and Commissioner of Prisons, he emphasized the importance of collaboration, knowledge sharing, and advocacy in achieving the association’s goals.
The Chairperson of the UMI Council welcomed members and thanked the outgoing members for their service, courage, and willingness to serve. The UMI Director General congratulated the new executive and emphasized the importance of the alumni association in promoting the institute’s interests and attracting resources. The Director of Finance and Administration assured the association of support in achieving its objectives and mandate, offering his office for consultations.
Dr. Bisanga encouraged the new executive to create collaborations, share knowledge, and uplift each other as they embark on an extraordinary journey. He warned that they may face challenges and resistance but emphasized the importance of advocating for the alumni association and working towards achieving its goals. Dr. Adrian Beinebyabo, the re-elected Chairperson, thanked the executives and congratulated the newly elected members, emphasizing that this term will focus on achieving results and making progress.
While visioning the new term, Dr. Beinebyabo emphasized that the new term will focus on delivering results and making progress, building on the foundation laid in the previous term. He encouraged members to work together to achieve the association’s objectives and make a positive impact. The UMI Alumni Association is poised to make a significant impact in promoting the interests of the institute and its members. With the support of UMI and the dedication of the new executive, the association is expected to achieve great things in the coming term.
