AAPAM operates mainly but not exclusively in Africa.
This year, the African Association for Public Administration and Management (AAPAM) is gearing up for a milestone event—the 43rd AAPAM General Round Table Conference. Scheduled to take place from November 26th to November 29th, 2024, the conference will be held at the Speke Resort Munyonyo in Kampala, Uganda.
Professor George Kojo Scott, AAPAM’s Secretary General together with the AAPAM President, Dr. John Nakabago, have coordinated preparations to ensure a seamless experience for all attendees, reflecting AAPAM’s dedication to fostering effective and innovative public administration across the continent.
The theme for this year’s conference is “Embracing Agile & Resilient Governance for Sustainable Development.” With an agenda focused on enhancing governance practices, the conference will explore how African public administration can evolve to meet the challenges of a rapidly changing world. The goal is to encourage participants to adopt innovative, adaptable approaches that can better serve citizens and contribute to sustainable development.
This year’s event is expected to draw a wide array of participants, including top government officials, public administration professionals, scholars, and development partners from across Africa. The conference will offer an extensive program that includes interactive sessions, workshops, and networking opportunities, allowing participants to engage in knowledge-sharing and collaborative problem-solving. It promises both depth and diversity, addressing pressing policy issues, technological advancements, and the critical role of public administration in sustainable development.
As one of the major highlights, attendees can look forward to sessions that focus on the role of governance in achieving sustainable development goals and on strategies for building resilient administrative frameworks. In a world where effective governance is more crucial than ever, AAPAM’s annual conference serves as a pivotal forum for exchanging best practices, fostering innovation, and shaping the future of governance in African nations.
By bringing together thought leaders and innovators from across the continent, the 43rd AAPAM General Round Table Conference aims to strengthen public administration and equip leaders with the insights needed to tackle evolving challenges. Anticipation is high as AAPAM’s leadership works to create an impactful conference that will resonate well beyond the closing session on November 29th.
