UMI and ISACA root for collaborations that will boost IT Education & Career Development

Uganda Management Institute (UMI) and the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA) have embarked on a groundbreaking partnership aimed at revolutionizing IT education and career development in Uganda. This collaboration seeks to leverage ISACA’s globally recognized certifications and expertise to enhance UMI’s competitive ICT programs and provide learners with international certifications in Information technology and Systems. ISACA is an international recognized community of ICT professionals that work together to network worldwide and advocate to create a world that’s safe, secure and accessible as they develop digital trust, advance knowledge & careers in information security, assurance, compliance, privacy, cybersecurity, IT-related risk management and enterprise Governance; and has existed for over 50years with global footprints in 190 countries. ISACA seeks to provide discounted IT/IS certifications to UMI participants who will enrol under CISA, CISM, CRISC, CGEIT, CDPSE and COBIT.

ISACA – Kampala Chapter will coordinate guest speakers from their widespread expert membership database of cybersecurity professionals, technology leaders, academia and partners to deliver training sessions at UMI. It will further offer training materials developed by industry experts, provide mentorship opportunities, job boards, access to online library and career mapping for ICT specialists.

This partnership aligns with UMI’s vision of becoming a transformative world class management development institute which focuses on strengthening the country’s sustainable administrative, leadership and management capacity. Its committed to building sustainable beneficial partnerships, capacity building, joint ICT workshops, training, research and knowledge sharing which stimulates innovative developments in information technology systems.

The meeting that was chaired by UMI’s Dr. Jennifer Rose Aduwo the Dean, School of Distance Learning and Information Technology was attended by ISACA’s Ogola Martin, Director, Academic Relations at ISACA and Brenda Ampurira and was graced by UMI representatives that included Grace Ndibalekera, Dr. Fredrick Kanobe and Dr. Innocent Kanobe. As both institutions embark on this journey, they are poised to make a significant impact on the IT industry in Uganda, empowering students and professionals to succeed in a rapidly dynamic innovative IT world.

UMI offers PHDs, Masters Degrees, Postgraduate diplomas, professional courses and certificate courses in the main Kampala campus and all its regional campuses of Northern Uganda (Gulu), Eastern Uganda (Mbale) and Western Uganda (Mbarara)
