School of Civil Service, Public Administration and Governance
The School of Civil Service, Public Administration, and Governance is a place that empowers current and future public servants to excel. Our school brings together curious minds and seasoned researchers across disciplines. Together, we explore a broad range of subjects, including public administration and management, urban governance and management, education leadership and management, health services management and administration, diplomacy and international relations, and journalism and communication management. To be able to achieve this strategic stance, the School will continue to review its programmes with full participation of key stakeholders and ensure that the products and services delivered resonate with the expectations of public sector actors. In addition innovative and practical ways and means will be sought continuously to meet the dynamic needs of the sector.

To excel in the provision of research-led, practical, leadership, and management capacity for improved public governance and client-centered service delivery.

To improve the knowledge, skills, and attitudes of current and future public servants through world-class, labour-market-responsive training, research, and service
Objectives
- To enhance the human resource capacity of the public sector through offering a wide range of innovative labour-market responsive training programmes;
- To strengthen knowledge generation and translation for shaping public policy and organisational development discourses in the public sector;
- To strengthen engagement with the Government and public service institutions for mutual benefit; and
- To strengthen the capacity and resilience of the School for sustainable delivery of its mandate.
