UMI was awarded the Certificate of the International Standards Organizations Quality Management Systems Standard (ISO 9001:2015) in 2019. Since then, the Institute has developed the Quality Management Systems (QMS) Manual and Standard Operating Procedures to guide her quality management systems standard. The Institute boasts of 60 internal staff that have been trained and certified as quality champions. The staff ensure that the Institute continuously complies with the implementation requirements of the ISO 9001:2015 for the purpose of self-improvement and maintaining its certification through internal audits and one-on-one mentoring sessions to other staff.

As we wait for our re-certification of the QMS by the Uganda National Bureau of Standards (UNBS), UMI Governing Council, Management, Staff and Participants … in line with its Vision to be a World Class Management Development Institute is committed to providing quality training, research and consultancy services in accordance with the national, regional and international quality frameworks. In line with the Quality Objectives, the Institute pledges to continuously improve the Quality Management System in conformity with the ISO 9001:2015 Standard and the rapidly changing needs and expectations of her Clients. The Institute shall avail the necessary resources to ensure that the Quality Management System is implemented, monitored, periodically reviewed and corrective action taken. The Quality Policy shall be communicated to all Interested Parties (UMI Quality Policy Statement, 2019).

UMI  is recognized as one of the finest MDI in Africa, with an educational experience proven to successfully prepare students for rewarding lives and careers. Nearly 100% of UMI  graduates receive job offers, start businesses or enter graduate school within six months of graduation. With an academic program designed in collaboration with some of the world’s best universities and organisations, UMI has created an educational model unlike any other in Africa.

An Hour and 40 minutes’ drive away from Entebbe Airport, UMIs campus provides serenity away from the bustle of Kampala, and is free from distractions to studies. The campus location overlooks the capital city of Kampala, and on campus facilities support a varied set of learning and recreation activities for students. However, the campus is still close enough for students to travel into Kampala to attend an event, or to do some quick shopping at the malls.
