Diploma in Public Procurement and Contract Management
Introduction
Ordinary Diploma in Public Procurement and Contract Management is one of the programmes under the Procurement, Logistics and Marketing Department hosted under the school of Business and Management The Programme is best suited to employees and officers in Government, Public Sector Industries, Local Government agencies, and Government aided institutions engaged in various levels in procurement, Purchase, Import, Stores, Finance, and Production, Projects, Corporate Planning and other allied activities. The Programme is useful for persons who have completed senior six level want to make a career in Public Procurement and for employees and executives of private sector engaged in supplying to government procurement agencies and procurement assistants without formal qualifications.
Admissions Requirements
As per the National QA Framework (NCHE, 2008), the minimum admission requirements are:
- Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) with at least 5 passes; and
- Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) with 1 principle pass and 2 subsidiary passes obtained at the same sitting or its equivalent.

The Programme is best suited to employees and officers in Government, Public, private and third Sector Industries, Local Government Agencies and officials, and Government aided institutions engaged in various levels in Purchase, Import, Stores, Finance, Production, Projects, Corporate Planning and other allied activities. It also includes those individuals operating at line manager’s levels, supervisors in procurement related organisations, senior six leavers, procurement assistants, managers of small businesses and all those who have the overall responsibility for managing the organization’s procurement operations without formal training in procurement management.
