Paddy Mugambe is a Management Scholar currently working as the Dean, School of Business and Management at Uganda Management Institute. He is at the Rank of Senior Consultant attached to the department of Finance and Accounting. As a Dean, he provides strategic leadership and guidance to the largest school within the Institute both in terms of the number of learners/students/participants and number of staff members or faculty. Mugambe is passionate about finance and financial management with a deep-rooted desire to see organizations that are financially literate living harmoniously with each other. He is an external Examiner for four Universities and has supervised many graduate students to completion over his working life.
Mugambe Paddy has experience in financial costing, modeling and projection, financial planning as well as financial reporting and analysis. He has extensive experience in financial management related consultancies including developing resource strategies to support strategic plans for organizations, resource forecasts and costing, financial modeling and Project Proposals. He has hands-on-experience in installing computerized financial management systems and reasonable experience in donor funded project accounting. He has participated in training, mainly in financial management area in various professional and academic Institutions within Uganda and the East African region.
Prior to joining the academia, Mugambe worked as an Accountant at UMI in charge of the Accounting function of the Global distance learning Centre by then a department within UMI funded by the World Bank through an IDA grant. He was in charge of the Department until when it was integrated within UMI operations successfully. Following this integration, he worked briefly as the accountant for the entire Institute before crossing over to the academic side.
Prior to joining UMI, Mugambe worked with the Ministry of finance, planning and economic development as an IFMS Accountant attached to Ministry of Agriculture, Animal industry and Fisheries. His role was to support the piloting of the ministry on to the Integrated Financial Management system from the existing manual system then.
Mugambe started off his career life as a teaching assistant at Makerere University business school immediately after graduating with a bachelor’s degree in commerce specializing in Accounting.

Together with colleagues Sylvester Kugonza and Joseph Kampumure, Mugambe is working on a project with a title “Pension and Social Security Funds: Superannuation System in Uganda.”
