Computer Networking, Hardware Repair And Maintenance

RATIONALE:
A computer network is no longer an option in any organisation. Computer networks are the most efficient means
of sharing resources in organisations and provide a platform for effective communication and cost reduction. This
course aims at equipping participants with knowledge and skills in designing, installing and configuring Local area
Networks. It will also equip participants with skills in assembling computer hardware components and troubleshooting
computer hardware and software problems.

TARGET GROUP:

Fresh IT Graduates, Computer Teachers, IT Laboratory Technicians, A level Holiday Makers and all people who are
interested in kick starting a career in IT.
Prerequisite: Applicants must have basic working knowledge of microcomputers

OBJECTIVES:
By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
Assemble computer hardware components
Trouble shoot hardware and software problems
Install and Configure operating systems (MS-Windows 7/8)
Design a Local Area Network
Terminate Ethernet cables with RJ45 connectors
Set up and configure a local Area Network
Share resources on the network

Introduction to Computer Networking

Setting Up and Configuration of a Wired LAN
Sharing Resources (files, folders and printers) on the network
Setting Up and Configuration of a Wireless LAN
Network Security and Administration
